Kian Kaeni is a seasoned public affairs and political campaign veteran of nearly twenty years. His focus is on political strategy and government relations within the City of Los Angeles, where he has deep relationships with electeds and city staff. Kian also specializes in message development, media relations, political communications and strategic communications for a range of issues and clients.
In addition to providing insight and strategy on city government and lobbying, Kian has also managed political campaigns across Southern California producing direct mail, creating and implementing digital campaigns and overseeing direct-cover contact.
Before joining EKA, Kian successfully ran the campaign for a current Los Angeles City councilmember. Kian then went on to become the councilmember’s senior legislative deputy where he staffed budget and finance, transportation, public safety and number of other vital issues.
Kian also served as a regional political operative for SEIU-UHW, where he managed all legislative and advocacy efforts for one-third of Los Angeles County. During his tenure, he directed a variety of political and issue campaigns on behalf of SEIU-UHW. Kian frequently traveled to Sacramento to meet with members of the legislature on a host of healthcare-related matters, including safe hospital staffing and long-term care.
Kian graduated cum laude, with a bachelor of arts degree in political science, from San Francisco State University and his Juris Doctor from Southwestern University School of Law.
